The Music of Chance - Paul Auster I loved this book - my favourite of Auster's - for its rather haunting and strange tale of two men forced to build a long wall to pay off a lost bet. There is an overall feeling of threat and unease, although nothing particularly bad happens. In that way, and for the wall-building theme, it bears some similarities to Magnus Mills' 'The Restraint of Beasts'
